Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to common questions about setting up and using LabGuard in your computer training institute.

What is LabGuard?
LabGuard is an all-in-one software platform created for computer training institutes. It combines student admission records, course organization, attendance tracking, and fee collection with automated computer time control, ensuring every student receives exactly their fair lab practice duration.
Who is LabGuard for?
LabGuard is designed specifically for owners, managers, and instructors at computer institutes, coding academies, vocational training centers, and typing institutes who want to eliminate manual paper registers and stop students from overstaying their allotted lab slots.
How do I connect my lab computers?
Connecting a computer takes just a couple of minutes. You run our simple installer once on each computer in your lab. It links the computer directly to your institute portal, and it is immediately ready for student use.
Can students use the computer normally during their session?
Yes, completely! Once the student logs in with their student ID, the computer desktop unlocks fully. They can work in MS Office, programming IDEs, graphic design software, browsers, or whatever applications your courses require. A small discreet on-screen timer keeps them aware of their remaining practice time.
What happens when a student's time ends?
When the countdown reaches zero, the computer automatically and securely locks the desktop and returns to the sign-in screen. The completed session duration is recorded, and the computer is instantly available for the next student.
What happens if the internet temporarily goes down?
Active student sessions are not disrupted by internet outages. The timer continues counting down accurately on the local computer, and it locks promptly when time is up. Once the internet connection is restored, the session details synchronize automatically with your web portal.
Can students change the computer clock to get extra time?
No. LabGuard does not rely on the standard Windows clock for its countdown. Adjusting the date, time, or timezone has no effect on the student's remaining time.
Can a student log into two computers at the same time?
No. LabGuard prevents concurrent logins. If a student is already signed into PC-01, attempting to sign in on PC-02 will be blocked until they log out of their first machine.
Can I manage multiple computers and rooms?
Yes. LabGuard easily manages anywhere from 5 to over 100 computers across different training rooms, all visible from your central web dashboard.
Can I manage students and fees?
Yes. You can manage student contact information, course enrollments, fee payment installments, and attendance records directly within the platform.
Do I need technical knowledge to use LabGuard?
No technical skills are needed. The web portal is clean, intuitive, and designed for normal office staff and instructors to use without special training.
